Congratulations to the first PRT Class of 2012!

Congratulations to the first PRT Class of 2012!

It is with much excitement that we announce today the Postural Restoration Trained Class of 2012!  PRT is the result of completing multiple advanced PRI courses, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the science through completion of the PRT application, and successfully participating in practical and analytical testing. Five individuals have earned the designation of Postural Restoration Trained (PRT) under the direction of Ron Hruska and Jason Masek.

The Postural Restoration Institute® established this credentialing process in 2011 as a way to recognize and identify individuals with advanced training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute®.  The PRT credential is available to Certified Athletic Trainers and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists who have completed the requirements.

PRT credentialed athletic trainers and strength and conditioning specialists offer a unique approach to physical medicine called Postural Restoration. This approach addresses underlying biomechanics which can often lead to symptoms of pain and dysfunction. All mechanical influences on the body that restrict movement and contribute to improper joint and muscle position are considered, examined, and assessed. Techniques are utilized to restore proper alignment of the body while proper respiratory dynamics are considered. Treatment encompasses prevention and lifetime integration for long-term successful outcomes.

Congratulations!

PRI Credentialing Update

Thank you to everyone who submitted an application for Postural Restoration Certification (PRC)!

The application review process was completed on Friday and all applicants should now have received email notification of the feedback from our PRC Application Review Committee. If you did not receive this email, please contact me. We look forward to the educational process of PRC testing, scheduled for December 5-6.

Each year the process of PRC review is one that I personally find very gratifying, and this year was no exception. We received a record number of applications which demonstrate the passion and interest that so many therapists have for the PRI science. In turn, the reviewer feedback from our Committee of individuals who themselves have earned the designation of PRC, reaffirms the growth and excitement that we continue to see through this unique mentorship opportunity that is the application review.

Also, I would like to thank those who applied for our new credential of PRT!  The application review process for PRT is now underway. Please expect to receive your completed review on or before November 15th. The educational testing process of PRT is scheduled for January 9th. It is with much anticipation and excitement that we prepare for the first class of individuals to earn the designation of Postural Restoration Trained (PRT).

PRT Applications

PRT Applications

Our PRT application deadline of October 15, 2011 will be here before we know it. In an effort to address the most common questions I’ve been receiving, the application has been revised. The revisions appear in the first three pages of the application which state the requirements and details of the process itself. The application questions remain unchanged, so if you have already begun working on the previous application there is no need to begin again. Simply print the first three pages of the PRT application for your information. We are currently working to provide applicants an example research review. We hope to have this available within the next week. Thanks for your questions and keep them coming!
