The Postural Restoration Institute established a certification process in 2004 for physical therapists as a way to recognize and identify those individuals with advanced training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute.

Certification is available to physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and occupational therapists who have attended all PRI courses, demonstrated a thorough understanding of the science through completion of the PRC application, and successfully participate in both clinical and analytical testing

Additional reasons for the establishment of PRC include:

1. Establish and maintain continuity between clinical sites in areas of research, practice and student affiliation.
2. Recognize individuals with PRI interest, specialization and expertise.
3. Protect the use and application of PRI science, reasoning, processes, techniques, and materials.
4. Provide avenues for professional development, collaboration between multidisciplinary specialists with PRI interests, and enhancement of scientific approaches using PRI concepts.
5. Allow educational institutions, students, and researchers access to PRI specialists.

To date 44 Physical Therapists, 1 PT Assistant, and 2 Occupational Therapists have earned the designation of Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) under the direction of Ron Hruska.
