On Left Trapezius and Left Levator Scap Pain…What is the primary cause of left trapezius / levator scapula pain and discomfort? I know you probably see right sided pain all day long, but I was wondering the issues with left sided pain? If the left side is overactive the left upper trap is probably holding the individual up for right upper quadrant insufficiency. We see this most often with left handed people but can also be seen with right handedness. Other reasons of left upper trap pain can be due to the left trap not able to work in an eccentric position and it also can be acting as a stabilizer for left pec major activity. In any event, you would still treat this condition the same as you would with a Right BC patient. This may also be a Superior T4 issue that will require manual work. |
