On treatment of Bells Palsy using TMCC techniques…I am 38 weeks pregnant and was just diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. Since I am preganant, I cannot receive the steroids. Have any of the TMCC techniques been useful in treating Bells Palsy? Right facial burning, facial tension and hypersensitivity always makes me suspicious of muscular, facial pull on the right lateral neck, anterior triangle of the neck and lateral face (temporal-parietal) from forces generated at the right low back, right SCM, right temporalis, right lateral pterygoid, etc…and the other muscles in the Left AIC, Right BC pattern. The ‘pull’ on this soft issue and the torque placed on C1 C2 and the cranium and neck might be alleviated by a good ‘lift’ of your left low lateral abdominal oblique wall. Maximizing active left AF IR and passive left side bending (thoracic abduction) should help reduce some of this neuro-mechanical stress and soft-tissue demand if this is the case. Remember the facial nerve exits the skull through the stylomastoid foramen (temporal bone). You may want to consider wearing a nocturnal non-repositional mouth piece to reduce temporalis activity. |
