Kentaro Ishii – MS, ATC/L, PES, CES, CSCS, PRT

A native of Mishima, Japan, Ishii joined Sporting Kansas City in May 2008. He became the team’s rehabilitation coordinator in 2010. His primary responsibilities include design and coordination of rehabilitation, reconditioning, and injury prevention programs for Sporting Kansas City players. Ishii earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and Movement Science from Texas Christian University (TCU) and Master of Science in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania. While Ishii was in TCU, he experienced various sports medicine settings, including internships at Ben Hogan Sports Therapy Institute, Fort Worth Flyers (NBA-D), Dallas Cowboys (NFL), and Kansas City Wizards (MLS). Ishii earned the professional designation, Postural Restoration Trained (PRT) from the Postural Restoration Institute®, and has a passion for an integrated approach of manual therapy and movement training for injury prevention and performance enhancement in soccer. Ishii joined the Postural Restoration Institute® faculty in 2014, and will be teaching Myokinematic Restoration, which has been translated into Japanese, in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan in July of 2015. Kenny is also a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). He envisions popularizing athletic training in youth sports to support young athletes in Japan. Ishii and his wife Tomoyo reside in Overland Park, KS with their two children, Ryotaro and Momoka.
