How do I find a PRI provider near me?

Please try locating a PRI credentialed provider on our Find a Provider map on our website. Please know that often times, there may not be a provider within your zip code or within 10-15 miles, but it’s not uncommon for individuals to travel an hour or two to see a PRI credentialed provider. Most times, after an initial evaluation, the PRI credentialed provider can put together a home program with follow-up every 2-4 weeks, or possibly even provide follow-up via telehealth.

If you are unable to locate a provider on our Find a Provider map within 1-2 hours of you, please Contact Us, and we can search our course attendance database to see if there is a provider near you who has taken at least a few PRI courses that we can recommend.

Many PRI credentialed providers also offer telehealth! You can filter the Find a Provider map on our website for location, telehealth vs. in-person providers, as well as specializations, profession, and language.

Does the Postural Restoration Institute® see patients?

No, we do not see patients at the Postural Restoration Institute®. We are an educational Institute located in Lincoln, Nebraska, that offers continuing education courses to healthcare and fitness professionals across the country and internationally.

The Hruska Clinic, where the science of PRI began with founder Ron Hruska, is also located in Lincoln, Nebraska on our campus. However, Ron Hruska no longer sees patients, other than in a consulting role with the staff at the Hruska Clinic.

There are over 300 PRI credentialed providers located across the country and internationally. Please visit our Find a Provider map to find a PRI Credentialed Provider near you, or a telehealth provider.

I’d like to learn more about PRI. Am I eligible to take PRI courses?

The primary audience for PRI courses includes: Physical Therapists, PT Assistants, Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, Chiropractors, Certified Athletic Trainers, Certified Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Certified Personal Trainers, and Massage Therapists. We also have secondary and tertiary coursework that is more relevant to other occupations including Dentistry, Speech Language Pathology, Myology, and Optometry.

PRI welcomes any licensed healthcare or certified fitness professional to attend courses. You will need to upload your license to practice as a healthcare professional or qualified fitness or strength coach certification (though an organization that is recognized in the United States) when registering.

If you are NOT a licensed healthcare or certified fitness professional, you cannot take PRI courses. However, PRI does have several resources available on the Patient Section of our website that you can access to learn more about PRI, including free webinars, podcasts, articles, a patient guide to restoring alternation in your daily life, and several pages related to daily living and athletics.

What course should I start with?

PRI offers 3 primary courses (Myokinematic Restoration, Postural Respiration and Pelvis Restoration), which are introductory to the science and do not require pre-requisites. The three primary courses can be taken in any order; however, we generally recommend beginning with either the Postural Respiration or Myokinematic Restoration course. Primary courses are available as an online home study, live stream or live in-person.

The secondary and tertiary level courses each have pre-requisite coursework that must be successfully completed prior to attending these courses, which is defined on each course page. Secondary and tertiary level courses are available for live stream or live in-person attendance.

Do PRI courses award CE hours? How do I know if my profession and/or state is approved?

CE approval information can be found on each course page. Once you select the course format (in-person, live stream or home study) that you are interested in, a column of purple tabs will pop up on the right side of the page. From there, you will click on the “CE Approval” tab. If your profession, or state organization in not on the CE approval list, you may be able to self-submit for approval through your regulating body. Please reach out to your organization or regulating body to see if that is an option. If you have any further questions about CE approval, please Contact Us.

When will I receive my certificate of completion?

The course must be attended in full, and an online course evaluation summary and short post-test (with a passing score of 70% or higher) must be completed in order to receive a certificate of completion for the full amount of hours awarded in that course. Your certificate of completion will be emailed to you within two weeks of successfully completing the course evaluation survey and post-test.

If you arrive late, or leave early, your certificate of completion will be adjusted for the number of CE hours you were in attendance. For live stream courses, if you have your camera turned off (or you are not visible on camera) at any time for greater than 15 minutes, this time will be deducted from your total hours on your certificate of completion.

How do I become Certified in PRI?

The Postural Restoration Institute® offers two credentialing programs; Postural Restoration Certified™ (PRC) and Postural Restoration Trained™. Both credentialing programs have four pre-requisite courses that must be completed, followed by an in-depth application (including case studies, technique write ups, articles reviews and more), which is reviewed by two members of a review committee, and if accepted, completion of a 1 ½ day in-person testing process that is held annually in Lincoln, NE

The Postural Restoration Certified™ (PRC) credentialing program is available to Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, and Chiropractors who have attended the required PRI courses (Myokinematic Restoration, Postural Respiration, Pelvis Restoration and Advanced Integration), demonstrated a thorough understanding of the science through completion of the PRC application, and successfully participate in both clinical and analytical testing. PRI strongly recommends clinical experience and implementation of Postural Restoration® concepts for at least two years before applying for PRC credentialing. The PRC application is due by September 15th of each year, for consideration for testing in December.

The Postural Restoration Trained™ (PRT) credentialing program is available to Athletic Trainers (with Certification through the BOC), Athletic Therapists (with Certification through the CATA), Strength and Conditioning Coaches (with CSCS Certification through the NSCA or SCCC Certification through the CSCCa), Certified Special Population Specialist (with CSPS Certification through the NSCA, and completion of a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree), and Exercise Physiologists (with Certification through the ACSM) who have attended PRI courses, demonstrated a thorough understanding of the science through completion of the PRT Application and successfully participated in both clinical and analytical testing. PRI strongly recommends clinical experience and implementation of Postural Restoration® concepts for at least two years before applying for PRT credentialing. The PRT application is due by October 15th of each year, for consideration for testing the following January. *A summer credentialing date is every third year.

Attending a PRI course and receiving a certificate of completion does not mean that you are “certified” in a particular PRI course, or in PRI itself.

If you have not completed PRC credentialing, you cannot advertise or suggest to others that you are Postural Restoration Certified, or certified in PRI®.  Likewise, if you have not completed PRT credentialing, you cannot advertise or suggest to others that you are Postural Restoration Trained, or trained in PRI®.
