I graduated from Johnson State College in 1996 with a degree in Sports Medicine and Adult/Corporate fitness. My first job was as a staff athletic trainer for a clinic that covered Champlain College athletic events as well as treating orthopedic injuries in the school’s health services office. It is the time spent at Champlain College that allowed me to grow professionally under some great coaches Susan Rand and Bob Tipson.

Following the schools decision to drop athletics I began a passionate pursuit in the area of performance enhancement training and my wife Jen and I opened our practice focusing on postural restoration physical therapy and functional training. From 1999 through 2005 I was fortunate to have worked with a tremendous men’s basketball program at the University of Vermont. While serving as the strength and conditioning specialist as well as certified athletic trainer for two of the six seasons I continued to develop fitness programs for athletes and individuals looking to excel in sport and life. Being a part of three straight NCAA tournaments was certainly a highlight of my professional career and drives me to want to help more athletes experience that same level of success.

For the past nine years I have integrated the principles of postural restoration in the training and treatment programs that I design. It is this approach that has changed the way that I look at the human body and how it functions. All of the individuals that I work with fall into a pattern of asymmetry and it is my goal that while working to make them faster and stronger I help them understand their bodies.  Postural Restoration has given me the tools to help recognize and treat the underlying causes of decreased performance and not simply chase symtoms of injuries or dysfunction.

Beginning in 1997 I began a passionate pursuit to help golfers play better golf and quickly recover from golf related injuries. This led me to become a BACKtoGOLF instructor and has brought great professional satisfaction to my practice. I currently train and rehabilitate golfers year round and served as the Rice Memorial High School golf coach from 2006 to 2010. I currently hold four national cerfifications as a Certified Althetic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Performance Enhancement Specialist and Titleist Performance Institute golf fitness specialist.

Areas of professional interest include golf performance training, speed and agility coaching, functional training and athletic reconditioning. I’ve been fortunate to have worked  with many great team and organizations including the althletes of the St. Michael’s men’s  soccer and basketball teams, University of Vermont Men’s Basketball, Far Post Soccer, Nordic Soccer, Cannons Baseball and many more. I volunteer regularly as an athletic trainer and enjoy coaching. I’ve coached numerous recreation teams in Vermont including Colchester soccer and basketball and Saint Francis girls basketball which won Vermont’s first ever New England championship in 2012.  In Pinehurst I’ve coached basketball for Parks and Recreation.

In my free time I enjoy golfing, fishing, skiing and spending time at our camp on beautiful Lake Champlain with my wife Jen and daughters Madison and Devon.

At the time of PRI Credentialing, providers are required to submit verification of current licensure or certification status to determine eligibility for PRI Credentialing. It is the responsibility of credentialed providers to update the Postural Restoration Institute if their license or certification has expired, been suspended, or revoked, so that they can be removed from the PRI Find a Provider map. As Postural Restoration Institute places this responsibility on providers, it cautions consumers that they should not rely on Postural Restoration Institute’s website as evidence of a provider’s current licensure or certification status. Instead, the Postural Restoration Institute recommends that patients and clients wishing to verify a provider’s current licensure or certification status contact the relevant regulatory boards or reach out directly to the provider to ask for current verification of his or her licensure or certification. The Postural Restoration Institute is not liable for and disclaims any responsibility for services performed by PRI Credentialed providers.
