In 2019, I graduated from the International Physiotherapy course at ”Saxion” University of Applied Sciences, with minor in Sports Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy.  Throughout my studies in the Netherlands and internships in Lithuania, Portugal, India, and Malta, I developed a particular interest in addressing nerve compressions. Soon enough, I understood that manual therapy for nerve surrounding structural limitations without motor control re-training would not deliver long-term changes, as postural and movement habits and adaptation will drive the body back to the starting point. Such a cause-effect relationship encouraged my interest in neurological movement retraining approaches. Although my ability to create long-term changes improved, I kept facing the barrier while looking at the nerve compressions at the level of the first rib (costo-clavicular junction). I could not find a solution to why some clients pull their first rib up against their collarbone with every breath they take, compressing the nerve structures between them, whereas others don’t. And I knew that a few minutes of my manual therapy and muscle re-training would have no effect against 23,000 breaths a day. My intention to help people around me and my interest in finding an answer to the complexities of human breathing led me to find PRI. Little did I know, it would open up a new world for me, where I could suddenly make sense of things I had been seeing all my life but did not know what I was looking at. Since then, my passion and interest in PRI kept growing, and in 2023, I was honoured with an opportunity to become a member of the PRI family, after completing the Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) credentialing program in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Currently, my therapeutic approach revolves around resolving poli-articular postural and breathing muscle chain adaptations using PRI concepts and techniques, further zooming in to the local tissue limitations using manual therapy, myofascial techniques, dry needling and nerve mobilisations, and coming back to integrate the global function of the movement systems using PRI.

At the time of PRI Credentialing, providers are required to submit verification of current licensure or certification status to determine eligibility for PRI Credentialing. It is the responsibility of credentialed providers to update the Postural Restoration Institute if their license or certification has expired, been suspended, or revoked, so that they can be removed from the PRI Find a Provider map. As Postural Restoration Institute places this responsibility on providers, it cautions consumers that they should not rely on Postural Restoration Institute’s website as evidence of a provider’s current licensure or certification status. Instead, the Postural Restoration Institute recommends that patients and clients wishing to verify a provider’s current licensure or certification status contact the relevant regulatory boards or reach out directly to the provider to ask for current verification of his or her licensure or certification. The Postural Restoration Institute is not liable for and disclaims any responsibility for services performed by PRI Credentialed providers.
